Liqoria 1.1 is here: Spotify Search, an improved widget, an all-new animated artwork algorithm, and more

Liqoria is an app that transforms your Mac music experience by bringing all your favorite music streaming services into one place. Liqoria supports Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, and audio from any browser or app on macOS.

Liqoria is not just an Apple Music controller. It’s a standalone app with unique features that also act as a Spotify and Apple Music controller, so you can keep using your favorite apps while controlling everything seamlessly from Liqoria.

What’s new in Liqoria v1.1

Liqoria v1.1 is a big step forward. It introduces Spotify search, an all-new animated artwork algorithm that works with any wallpaper, a refreshed widget UI, and many improvements under the hood—both for performance and visual polish.

Spotify Search, leveled up

Spotify search brings what many Spotify Mac users have been waiting for: a real Spotify widget experience. Liqoria had Spotify support since v1.0, but now it’s taken to the next level. You can search and play any Spotify song directly from Liqoria, like tracks, and add them to your playlistswithout opening the Spotify app.

Animated artwork that respects your wallpaper

The new animated artwork algorithm lets you enjoy Apple Music animated artwork on your Lock Screen, just like on iOS, while still keeping your favorite wallpaper. Liqoria automatically restores your wallpaper when you unlock your Mac or when a song doesn’t support animated artwork—so nothing is lost.

Widget refresh

The widget received a refreshed UI that works beautifully even when it’s not the main widget. It also adds new quick-access buttons, including +15 / −15 skip controls, so you can jump through tracks instantly.

Performance & polish

Performance and battery efficiency have been improved, alongside updates to the floating player and multiple UI refinements. All of this brings Liqoria to a new level with v1.1.

And this is just the beginning v1.2 is coming, with even more features you probably don’t expect yet.
